LAKEWOOD, NJ - Trailing 9-3 in the ninth inning, the BlueClaws mounted a rally on Thursday, but Cody Smith struck out Cole Stobbe to end the game with the tying run on second as Greensboro topped the BlueClaws 9-8 at FirstEnergy Park.
Lakewood (2-6/31-47) scored five times off John O'Reilly. Jake Holmes drove in two with a double before Carlos De La Cruz singled home two. Seth Lancaster then drove in a run with a double to bring the score to 9-8, but Smith came on to get Stobbe and end the game.
