Claws Roll to 10-3 Win Tuesday at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE - The BlueClaws scored seven times in the top of the sixth inning and rolled to a 10-3 win over Wilmington on Tuesday night, giving them sole possession of first place in the SAL Northern Division.

With the win, combined with Brooklyn's loss at Asheville, the BlueClaws move into sole possession of first place in the SAL Northern Division. Jersey Shore has now on four in a row and the BlueClaws improved to 22-6 in their last 28 games.

The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the top of the third inning. Gabriel Rincones Jr., who had four hits on Sunday, had an RBI single to give the BlueClaws a 1-0 lead. Caleb Ricketts then drove in Justin Crawford, who had singled, with a SAC fly to put the BlueClaws up 2-0.

Erick Brito scored from third on a throw to first following a strikeout in the third to give the BlueClaws a 3-0 lead.

BlueClaws starter Michael Plassmeyer went three scoreless innings in his third rehab start with Jersey Shore. He gave up two hits, no walks, and struck out two.

Jersey Shore poured it on in the top of the sixth. Jared Carr doubled in a run with a second scoring on an error. Justin Crawford hit an RBI triple to left center and Bryan Rincon followed with an RBI double to put the Claws up 7-0. Next up came Caleb Ricketts, and his RBI single gave the BlueClaws an 8-0 lead.

A fielder's choice grounder from Otto Kemp scored a run, and then Anthony Quirion's RBI single gave the BlueClaws a 10-0 lead. All told, the BlueClaws sent 12 men to the plate in the seven-run inning, adding six hits.

Gabriel Coto (1-4) earned the win, allowing two runs in four innings of relief.

Crawford, Quirion, and Carr all had two hits for the BlueClaws in the win.

The teams continue their series on Wednesday night at 6:35 pm.
