'Claws Drop 4th Straight with 13-1 Loss to Shorebirds

SALISBURY, Md. - Already leading 2-0 entering the 4th inning, Delmarva exploded for seven runs and a nine-run lead Saturday evening, sending the BlueClaws to their 4th consecutive loss, 13-1.

The first seven eight batters of the 4th inning reached as the Shorebirds battered starting pitcher Ervis Manzanillo for eight runs- seven earned- on nine hits in three innings. Manzanillo drops his record to 0-5 and has lost four of his last five starts.

Delmarva also scored pairs of runs in the 2nd, 5th and 7th innings to blow out the BlueClaws for Lakewood's 16th loss in their last 18 games.

The BlueClaws and Shorebirds will complete their three-game series Sunday at Purdue Stadium. Lefty Ethan Stewart (1-6, 4.08) will start for the BlueClaws with Parker Bridwell (2-4, 6.23) getting the nod for Delmarva. First pitch for Sunday's game is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
