Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Augusta GreenJackets 4-3 Saturday night in front of a sold out crowd at State Mutual Stadium of 5,105.

The Braves were down early as Greenville opened the scoring in the second on a solo homerun by Jose Cuevas (6) for the 1-0 lead. The GreenJackets would pad their lead three innings later to add a pair of runs in the fifth. After a lead off single by Garrett Buechele, a walk and a fielder's choice that put Buechele at third and Jesus Galindo at first, Jose Flores would double in both runners to put Augusta up 3-0. The Braves would battle back and take control of the game the rest of the way. In the Braves' fifth, Kyle Kubitza stood at second after a two out double as Fernando De Los Santos (5) drove a two-run homer to left field to cut Augusta's lead 3-2. De Los Santos and the Braves offense were not finished and put together a two run eighth to take the lead. De Los Santos crushed his sixth homerun of the year with a solo shot to left field. Tony Mueller would also score in the inning after a single and an RBI double by Kubitza to bring the Braves' tally to 4-3 and give Rome the victory. Chipper Jones was in town on a rehab assignment was 0-3 and played six innings.

Jarrett Miller (3-0) notched his third win for Rome, coming on in the seventh to relieve starter Greg Ross. Ross would surrender eight hits, but only three runs before Miller took the game the rest of the way. Miller gave up neither a hit nor a run in 2.1 innings of work. Greenville's Edwin Escobar (2-4) would merit the loss.

Roster move: Pitcher Ryne Harper has been transferred to Lynchburg of the Carolina League.
