â The Ducks have won a season-high five straight games and six of their last seven...have gone 8-3-0-0 beginning with their win December 4 at Edmonton...lost 14 of 16 games from November 3-December 3 (2-12-0-2)...were 12-16-5-1 after 34 games last season (13-16-5-1 after 35).
â A win December 31 in San Antonio would match the Ducks franchise record for the longest winning streak at six games...they have recorded two six-game winning streaks in franchise history, most recently January 5-20, 2001.
â With their win Wednesday vs. Hamilton, the Ducks have climbed to within one point of fourth-place Houston in the West Division standings...they were 11 points in back of Houston after their loss December 3 at Edmonton.
â At 8-5-0-0 (.615), the Ducks have posted the best December record in franchise history...prior to this season, Cincinnati had compiled a .500 or better record in December just twice in franchise history (7-5-2-0 in 1999-00 and 6-4-1-1 in 2000-01).
â Since December 4, the Ducks have posted the second-most points in the West Division...the Wolves lead the way with 19 points, followed by Cincinnati (16), Milwaukee (14), Utah (10), San Antonio (10), Grand Rapids (nine) and Houston (six).
â The Ducks have won four straight and five of their last six road games...Cincinnati's four-game road winning streak matches their longest away from home since the 2000-01 season (December 26-February 3).
â Since scoring 11 goals in eight games from November 28-December 12, the Ducks have scored 22 goals in their last seven games...Cincinnati scored a season-high five goals December 15 at Chicago, December 18 vs. Edmonton and December 28 at Grand Rapids.
â Tuesday's 2-1 win at Grand Rapids improved Cincinnati's record to 10-5-0-2 in one-goal games, including a record of 7-2-0-1 away from home.
â Right wing Joffrey Lupul has scored four goals in his last two games and has seven goals and nine points in his last seven...he netted his second career hat trick with three goals Tuesday at Grand Rapids...Lupul leads Cincinnati in points (24), goals (11), assists (T-13), game-winning goals (four), unassisted goals (two) and shots (128).
â The Ducks have had their best success when right wing Joffrey Lupul has had an offensive presence...the Ducks are 7-0-0-0 this season when he's scored a goal and 9-4-0-1 when he earns at least one point...additionally, the club has posted a 7-0-0-0 record in Lupul's team-leading seven multiple-point games this season.
â Left wing Stanislav Chistov has recorded points (3-1-4) in four of his last five games...he posted a season-high four-game point streak (3-1-4) December 18-28.
â Center Zenon Konopka has earned points (3-4-7) in five of his last seven games...he recorded an AHL career-high four-game point streak (3-3-6) December 15-23, including his first AHL two-goal and three-point game December 18 vs. Edmonton...Konopka has compiled a plus-10 rating over his last seven games to climb from minus-3 to a team-best plus-7.
â Goaltender Frederic Cassivi has won his last three starts with a 1.00 GAA and .964 SPCT in that stretch...he has gone 4-1-0 with a 1.78 GAA and .935 SPCT over his last five starts, stopping 129 of the 138 shots he has faced.
â With 181 games played, defenseman Mark Popovic has moved past Marc Chouinard (179) into third place on the Ducks' all-time career leader list in games played by a skater...he needs six more games to pass Peter Podhradsky (186) for second place on the all-time list...first on the list is Bob Wren (277).
â NASCAR driver Tony Stewart will drop the first puck, sign autographs for select fans and participate in intermission events when the Ducks face San Antonio Saturday, January 29 at Cincinnati Gardens...Stewart finished sixth in points (6,326) in the Nextel Cup Series standings in 2004...in addition to victories at Chicagoland and Watkins Glen, he had 10 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes...the visit by Stewart will mark the fourth straight year he has made an appearance during a Ducks game at Cincinnati Gardens.
