
Cikhart, Ferguson Named to NHL Central Scouting Watch List

KENNEWICK, WA - NHL Central Scouting released their October 'Players to Watch' list for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft on Monday. Americans forward Jan Cikhart and defenseman Ian Ferguson are two of 44 players from the Western Hockey League featured on the list.
Cikhart and Ferguson, both in their first year with the Americans, were given a C rating indicating a potential fourth-, fifth-, or sixth-round selection in the 2020 NHL Draft.
The players to watch list is Central Scouting's compilation of top prospects from all the major development leagues throughout North America and Europe. The list is updated throughout the season while scouts travel to evaluate the players live.

Cikhart was selected by the Americans in the first round of the 2019 CHL Import Draft. The 6'3 and 190-pound native of Praha, Czech Republic has tallied one goal and two assists through the season's first six games.
After suffering a minor lower-body injury early in the season, Ferguson played his first WHL regular season game at the Americans' Home Opener on Saturday, October 5th. The 5'11 and 175-pound hails from Missouri City, Texas. General Manager Bob Tory describes Ferguson as a solid two-way defenseman that transitions the puck well. Last season he played with the Dallas Stars U16 of the Tier 1 Elite League. In 30 games he recorded three goals, three assists, and 51 penalty minutes.
The upcoming NHL Draft will be held June 26-27, 2020 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. - The Americans will play back-to-back home games this upcoming weekend.
