Winnipeg Ice News Release
Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg ICE Hockey Club is excited to announce the launch of the Junior ICE Skater presented by ADESA Auctions in support of local charities.
The Junior ICE Skater is a unique opportunity that select children will have the chance to experience. The Junior ICE Skater will join the team as they skate onto the ice before a game waving the ICE flag. In addition, the Junior ICE Skater will stand on the blue line with the players during the singing of the national anthem.
There will be a Junior ICE Skater for every Winnipeg ICE 2019-2020 regular season home game.
The criteria to become a Junior ICE Skater is:
- must be between the ages of 7-14
- must bring their own hockey equipment
- must have prior skating experience
"We are incredibly excited to be the sponsor of the Junior ICE Skater program," said Gregg Maidment from ADESA Auctions. "This is a great community initiative that allows kids to get up close with ICE players before a game, while supporting local charities. We look forward to seeing all the Junior ICE Skaters this season."
ADESA Auctions will donate and auction off the Junior ICE Skater experience to various organizations throughout Winnipeg hosting auctions in support of their fundraising efforts. Those attending these fundraisers will have the opportunity to bid on the Junior ICE Skater in support of these charities. The winning bidder will receive four tickets to the game, their child will skate onto the ice with the team and go home with an authentic signed ICE jersey.
