Everett, WA - The AquaSox wasted little time getting on top of Vancouver in the bottom of the first inning Wednesday night as Bobby Honeyman tripled after Mc Gregory Contreras misjudged the flight of the ball, 2-0. The play brought home Josh Stowers and Cal Raleigh, who both previous walked in the inning. Honeyman, who had a stellar night, now leads the AquaSox in triples at three.

With a pair of runners on base in the top of the fourth inning, the Canadians were able to cut into the two-run deficit after Bryan Lizardo barely snuck one past shortstop Ryne Ogren, 2-1.

Jheyson Caraballo ended his outing with a bang by picking off a Canadian Tanner Kirwer at first base. The Venezuelan native finished with 5.0 IP, 1 R, 4 H, 2 BB, 2 SO. The outing brought his season ERA to 3.58, third best among AquaSox starters.

A three-run sixth inning rally appeared to put the game away for the AquaSox. Raleigh would lead off the inning with a line drive to right field and advanced to third off a Honeyman double to center. Vancouver's reliever Justin Watts allowed the Sox to add their first run of the inning by throwing a wild pitch that allowed Raleigh to score from third base. Back-to-back singles from Jansiel Rivera and Ryan Ramiz scored Bobby Honeyman and Nick Rodriguez respectively giving the AquaSox a comfortable four-run cushion, 5-1.

Just as it seemed the AquaSox had the game in hand, Vancouver's Lizardo launched a two-run home run over the Les Schwab Tire billboard in right center field. Just like that, the AquaSox were holding on to a slim one-run lead, 5-4.

AquaSox closer, Joey Gerber came on to the mound in the ninth inning to close the game out. Gerber, who is tied for the most saves, six, in the Northwest League, allowed Christopher Bec to score the game-tying run on a Kirwer double to left field. The AquaSox were unable to score a run in the bottom of the ninth, and the ballgame headed into extra innings.

As per the new Minor League Baseball rule, the Canadians began the tenth inning with a runner on second base, Vinny Capra. Frog reliever Dayeison Arias was immediately put in a tricky situation when he came into the game. Arias got the job done, striking out the last two batters in the tenth after Capra advanced to third on the sacrifice bunt by Otto Lopez.

All eyes then turned towards the AquaSox offense in the bottom of the tenth. A successful sacrifice bunt from Honeyman advanced Raleigh to third base, who began the inning at second. The Canadians then elected to intentionally walk pinch-hitter, Charlie McConnell. This set the stage for Rodriguez, who came up to the plate with a runner on first and third base. Rodriguez, who singled earlier, skied the third pitch he saw off the left field wall. This would bring home the walk-off game-winning run and seal the victory for the AquaSox, 6-5.

Thursday the AquaSox will host the rubber match against Vancouver at 11:05 AM. For the second time this season, It will be Kids Day at Everett Memorial Stadium with entertainment from Roberto the Magnificent! Children from across Snohomish County will get to see the AquaSox go for the series win. Tickets are available for purchase at AquaSox.com or by calling our front office at (425) 258-3673.
