
Chillicothe steals game in ninth

Andrew Kasparek hit a bases clearing double in the ninth inning to cap a five-run Chillicothe rally as the Paints scored nine runs in the final three innings to defeat the Evansville Otters 11-10.
After the Paints scored first in the second inning, the Otters came back with three in the bottom half of the inning, keyed by a two run single by Frank Scott to make it 3-1. The Otters would eventually push the lead to 8-2 when Chillicothe started their rally.
The Paints scored three runs in the seventh to make it 8-5. The Otters came back with two in the seventh to go up 10-5. Chillicothe scored a run in the eighth to make it 10-6. After s Josh Ury single in the ninth with the bases loaded made it 10-8 in the ninth, Nathan Stone hit Mike Spry with a pitch to reload the bases. Kasparek then came up and cleared the bases with one swing giving the Paints the 11-10 win.
Nathan Stone (1-3) suffered the loss for Evansville. Nick Cavanaugh (1-0) picked up the victory for Chillicothe.
The Otters now travel to Loeb Stadium in Lafayette for a three game set against the Ohio Valley Redcoats. Sunday's game is at 7:05 p.m.
