ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Windy City ThunderBolts sent 12 men to the plate in an eight-run sixth inning and went on to beat the Rockford RiverHawks, 12-8. Windy City ended Rockford's three-game winning streak and salvaged the finale of a three-game series, in front of 2,128 at Marinelli Field.

The ThunderBolts needed just three hits in the big inning. Justin Schuda put them in front, 7-5, with a three-run homer off reliever Dave Parker. Windy City stole four bases off the battery of Parker (0-1) and Kevin Ciarrachi that inning. The RiverHawks chipped in with four errors, three wild pitches and a passed ball in the sixth.

Ciarrachi was 4-for-5 with a RBI at the plate.

Ryan Dittfurth (2-5) gave up six runs on nine hits, but lasted seven innings for the win. Rick Weber got the last three outs for his first save.

The Mid-Missouri Mavericks come to town at 6:05 p.m. Sunday. Petco sponsors Dog Days of Summer. The entire Rock River Valley is invited to bring their best friends to the park. Canine-friendly treats will be scattered throughout the ballpark. It's also another Family Night, when families can get up to five tickets for $10.

The RiverHawks are the defending champions of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 13th season. All games are broadcasted live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 - the Hub.
