
Richmond Rallies To Beat Freedom

Richmond, Indiana - The Roosters won 5-3 on Friday night, coming from behind in the late innings for the victory. Danny Bonilla made his first professional start for Richmond and gave up just two runs over five innings pitched.
The Roosters started the scoring with a run in the first on a RBI single by Gerald Miller that scored Mike Reese. The Freedom struck back by scoring the next three runs. Mike Galloway accounted for two of them with a pair of solo home runs, one in the second and another in the seventh. Florence led 3-1 after six and a half, but the Roosters rallied in the bottom half of the seventh to tie things up. Mike Bidwell and Nate Gravley both scored in the inning for a 3-3 tie.
Richmond took the lead in the eight when Tony Sanguinetti blasted a moon shot over the left field fence. Another runs scored for insurance on a single by Gravley as the Roosters went on to win 5-3. Kris Regas (1-1) got the win while Mike Causey (1-1) took the loss. Hunter Davis (3) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
The Roosters will finish the series against Florence on Saturday at 6:35 p.m. (Indiana time) before the Washington Wild Things come to McBride Stadium on Sunday. Dan Caldwell (1-3, 3.15 ERA) is scheduled to make his first start for Richmond against former Rooster, Curt Moenter (4-2, 3.66 ERA).
