Peoria, IL - Jacob Wilson cracked a walk off, three-run homer to center field in the bottom of the ninth to give the Peoria Chiefs a 13-10 win Wednesday night against the Lake County Captains. It was one of six extra base hits that led to the Chiefs win, bumping their record to 11-12 this season.

Lake County scored early after former first-round pick LeVon Washington singled to lead off the game against Joe Cuda. Dorssys Paulino reached on a Breyvic Valera error and two batters later, Joe Sever drove in Washington with a single. Paulino scored on a double-play by Nellie Rodriguez, putting the Captains up 2-0 after the top half of the first inning.

The Chiefs responded against the Captains' Mitch Brown with four runs in the bottom of the first frame. With two outs, Wilson became the Chiefs first baserunner after being hit by a pitch. Patrick Wisdom struck out swinging, but reached first on a wild pitch while Wilson found third on a throwing error by catcher Eric Haase. After Carson Kelly walked to load the bases, Geoff Klein belted a grand slam, his first long ball of the year. The hit doubled his season RBI total and put the Chiefs up 4-2.

Peoria padded their lead with two runs in the bottom of the second inning. With two outs Charlie Tilson singled and stole second with Wilson at the plate. With Tilson in scoring position, Wilson corked his sixth home run of the season, putting the Chiefs up 6-2. To this point, all of the Chiefs' runs had come with two outs.

The Captains evened the score with four runs in the third inning. Paulino led off with a single and scored on a Logan Vick triple. Vick scored on a Rodriquez sacrifice fly to right field. After Haase and Erik Gonzalez both singled, Anthony Santander doubled to plate both of his teammates and tie the score at 6-6.

Lake Country scored again in the top of the fourth inning. Vick walked with two outs and advanced to second on a Cuda wild pitch. The blunder proved to be costly, as Vick scored on a Sever single for a 7-6 Captains lead.

Down a run, the Chiefs scored again on the long ball in the fourth inning. Tilson homered to deep right field to start the frame, evening the score at 7-7. It was the first homer of the year for the Chiefs' center fielder, as well as the first of his pro career.

The back-and-forth game continued as the Captains came back with a run in the top half of the fifth inning. Leading off the inning, Haase homered to deep center field. It was the slugger's third home run of the year, and once again gave the Captains the one-run lead.

The Chiefs got a run in the sixth to tie the score at 8-8. Wilson reached on a fielding error by third baseman Robel Garcia. Patrick Wisdom followed with a single, moving Wilson to second. Carson Kelly followed with a single to center field, scoring Wilson. It was Kelly's first RBI this season, and tied the score.

Lake County broke the tie with two runs in the seventh inning. Hasse began the frame with a single to center field. After a Gonzalez pop out to first base and a Santander single, Garcia doubled to score Haase. Santandar was thrown out by Wisdom at home and a ground ball by Paulino, catcher Gerwuins Velazco threw the ball into right field trying to get Paulino. Garcia scored on the error.

Down 10-8, the Chiefs scratched across a run in the eighth inning. Wilson led off the frame with a single, but was thrown out trying to score on a Kelly double. Kelly later scored, however, on an error by Gonzalez, but the tying run was thrown out at second.

The Chiefs weren't done, scoring four runs in the bottom of ninth to win the game. Nick Martini led off with a single and advanced to third on a Casey Rasmus pinch-hit double. He then scored on a Steven Ramos sacrifice fly to center field tied the game at ten. After Valera stuck out and Tilson was hit by a pitch, Wilson smashed a three-run home run to win the game for the Chiefs. It was Wilson's Midwest League leading seventh homer of the year and Peoria's first walk-off home run since April 24, 2012.

Cuda allowed eight runs, six earned, on 11 hits over five innings pitched while striking out two. Jhonny Polanco surrendered two runs in 1 1/3 innings pitched while striking out two. Joseph Scanio gave up no runs in 1 2/3 innings while striking out two. Joe Donofrio (1-0) tossed a perfect ninth, and eventually earned the win.
