
Chiefs Belt 4 HR and Beat Captains 13-10

Lake County Captains News Release
(Peoria, IL) - The Peoria Chiefs defeated the Lake County Captains on a walk off three run home run by Jacob Wilson on Wednesday Night at Peoria Chiefs Stadium. The final was 13-10. The Chiefs (11-12) hit for the homerun cycle. Geoff Klein hit a grand slam in the first inning, and that was followed by a two run homer by Wilson in the second inning. Charlie Tilson hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning and then the game winner the three run shot in the bottom of the ninth was the second homer of the day for Wilson. The Captains (8-18) have now lost back to back games.
Lake County saw all of their batters get at least one hit. Seven of the nine batters had multi hit games. Eric Haase and Anthony Santander had three hit games. Haase hit his third homer of the season and Santander had a double and two RBI's. Joe Sever, Nellie Rodriguez, Logan Vick and Robel Garcia all knocked in runs for the Captains as well.
Felix Sterling (0-4) took the loss for the Captains. Sterling pitched two thirds of an inning and allowed three hits, four earned runs and the walk-off homer by Wilson. Joe Donofrio (1-0) got the win for the Chiefs. Donofrio pitched the top of the ninth and twirled the only one-two-three inning of the night for either team.
Each team committed four errors on the night. For the Captains that brings the total number of errors on the season to 52. The Chiefs have now committed 32 errors themselves.
The Captains will stay in Peoria for Game two of a three game series on Thursday Night. Jake Sisco (0-2, 2.18) will start for the Captains and he will be opposed by LHP Hector Hernandez (1-1, 3.52) for the Chiefs. First Pitch is at 7:30 PM.
