Chiefs storm over Cyclones, 4-1

Cincinnati, Ohio (February 7, 2007) - The Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones by a score of 4-1 at U.S. Bank Arena on Thursday.

Johnstown got on the board early, with Maxime Boisclair scoring on the power-play, picking up the rebound of a shot from Andrew Martens and putting it past Cincinnati goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris at the 2:54 mark. Just 16 seconds later, Eric Przepiorka scored on a low turn-around wrist shot from the top of the right circle that beat Grumet-Morris low along the ice.

Cincinnati got on the board at 7:07 of the first period when Greg Stewart took a feed from Chad Starling and fired a wrist shot past Chiefs goaltender Morgan Cey.

The Chiefs would regain their two-goal lead at 7:56 of the second period when Eric Przepiorka broke in three-on-one with Brandon Elliott and Ryan Gibbons, and fed the puck over to Elliott who beat Grumet-Morris to score a goal in his third consecutive game.

Randy Rowe gave the Chiefs an insurance goal at 14:03 of the third period, stripping Cincinnati defenseman Matt MacDonald of the puck, breaking in on Grumet-Morris alone and tucking the puck behind him to give the Chiefs a 4-1 lead.

The Chiefs were 1-for-5 on the power play, while Morgan Cey made 23 saves on 24 shots to earn the win for Johnstown.
