Calgary, AB - The Spokane Chiefs scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Calgary Hitmen 6-3 on Saturday night at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Chiefs have now won nine straight and 15 of their last 16 games.

Eli Zummack led the Spokane attack with five assists while Leif Mattson and Luke Toporowski both scored twice. Adam Beckman and Ty Smith also found the back of the net for the visitors who outshot the Hitmen 30-29.

Orca Wiesblatt, Cael Zimmerman and Rory Neill provided the Calgary goals. For Neill, it was his first career marker in the Western Hockey League and came in just his third career game after joining the team in a Wednesday call up from the Manitoba Midget Hockey League.

The game also ended Calgary's busiest stretch of the regular season which saw the team play 16 games in 30 days while posting a record of 8-8.

The Hitmen, 35-24-4-1, will enjoy a six-day break before beginning a home-and-home set with the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday, March 14 in Central Alberta.

The return match goes one day later on Sunday, March 15 at Scotiabank Saddledome. Game time is 2:00 p.m. for Sunday Funday presented by Ricky's All Day Grill featuring face painters, concourse activities, giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket. Sunday Funday pricing sees a $9.99 ticket for kids 12 and under and a $15.99 ticket for adults (plus applicable fees and taxes).
