McElroy stole second and both runners scored on a single to left by Justn Ringo.

Cael Brockmeyer homered for the Cougars in the sixth and the hosts put the game out of reach in the eighth against reliever Robert Stock. A walk to Jacob Rogers and a Brockmeyer single put two on before Penalver struck out. Shawon Dunston Jr doubled home Rogers and Bote singled home two for a 9-2 lead. Kane County scored the final run on a bases loaded fielder's choice for a 10-2 win.
