Dionicio's Double Lifts Bees over LumberKings

(Burlington-IA) Ismael Dionicio extended the Bees' win streak to four games on a walk-off double on Wednesday night at Community Field, securing a 5-4 win over the Clinton LumberKings.

For the second straight night the Clinton LumberKings scored first. With two outs, Justin Seager doubled to left scoring Chantz Mack, putting the LumberKings on top 1-0.

Eric Aguilera gave the Bees their first lead of the night with a three run homer to right, his 11th homer of the season, putting the Bees on top 3-1 in the third inning.

Jack Reinheimer tied the game at three for Clinton in the top of the fifth inning with a two run double.

With two outs and a runner at second base, Erick Salcedo doubled down the left field line, scoring Cambric Moye from second, giving the Bees their second lead of the game, at 4-3.

It was Jack Reinheimer again, this time a single, tying the game, driving in Christian Carmichael in the eighth inning.

After a lead off walk issued to Ranyelmy Mendoza in the ninth inning, Erick Salcedo sacrificed Mendoza to second with a bunt. With first base open, the LumberKings intentionally walked Ryan Dalton. Ismael Dionicio lined a ball to the right field gap, scoring Mendoza and giving the Bees the 5-4 win.

Reliever Alan Busenitz (3-3) earned the win, Kevin McCoy (0-1) was charged with the loss for Clinton.

The Burlington Bees (46-36) continue a three game series with the Clinton LumberKings (34-46), on Thursday at 6:30 PM.
