Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT - In front of an enthusiastic crowd that fully enjoyed a fantastic post-game fireworks show, the Beloit Sky Carp fell to visiting Peoria 5-2 Friday night at ABC Supply Stadium.
The game, which also featured a space-themed night with special promotions, music and between-inning contests, was made interesting with a late-inning charge by the Sky Carp.
Trailing 5-0 entering the bottom of the seventh, Beloit plated a pair of runs on hits by Cody Morissette and Bennett Hostetler to make it 5-2.
They later brought the tying run to the plate during the ninth inning before the Chiefs procured the final out.
Evan Fitterer allowed four runs in the first inning before putting up four zeroes to end his night on a strong note. Chandler Jozwiak was outstanding in his Sky Carp debut, striking out four in two scoreless frames.
The Sky Carp will face the Chiefs in game five of the series Saturday at 6:35 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative Sky Carp Inaugural Season cap. It's also First Responders Night at the ballpark, with several emergency vehicles parked along the concourse for kids to check out!
