Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs came up empty in their efforts to salvage the backend of a Thursday-Friday double-header with the Everett Silvertips on Friday night, falling by a score of 6-1.

Everett's Cole Fonstad accounted for the lone score of the first, but the Silvertips tacked on three more goals in the second to give them a 4-0 lead entering the second intermission.

A Silvertips goal to open the third period prompted the Chiefs to make a switch in net as rookie goaltender Manny Panghli made his Western Hockey League debut. Panghli went on to allow one goal on five Everett shots in 14:40 of ice action. Chiefs winger Cordel Larson managed to put one by Tips netminder Dustin Wolf at 18:02 to spoil the shutout.

Spokane was held 0-for-2 on their power play chances while Everett managed to go 2-for-5 on the opportunities. Mason Beaupit, who started for the Chiefs, stopped 29-of-34 before exiting the contest.
