Chiefs Cleared to Resume Normal Team Activities
January 10, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
Spokane, Wash. -- The Western Hockey League announced on Monday afternoon that the Spokane Chiefs have been cleared to resume team activities in accordance with WHL COVID-19 Protocols.
The Chiefs had four games postponed last week due to inclement weather (Jan. 7 vs. Everett) and multiple positive COVID cases among players and staff (Jan. 8 at Seattle, Jan. 10-11 at Victoria). Those games will be rescheduled during the 2021-22 regular season but the new game dates have yet to be determined.
Spokane will host back-to-back games on Friday versus the Everett Silvertips and Saturday versus the Kamloops Blazers.
The health and safety of all WHL participants is the top priority for the WHL. In order to reduce the risk of exposure to and transmission of COVID-19, the WHL requires all WHL roster players, hockey operations staff, and other team and League office personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a Health Canada approved vaccine.
