Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats announced Monday that they have claimed 2001-born defenceman Neithan Salame off waivers from the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Salame, 20, has appeared in two games this season, which came with the Wheat Kings before he was dealt to the Victoria Royals on October 14, 2021. The Edmonton, Alta., native, registered 10 points (3G-7A) last season in the East Division hub in 23 games. Salame played in Brandon for three seasons (2018-2021), appearing in 149 games, totalling 32 points (7G-25A) and a +37 plus-minus rating.
The 6-foot-1, 185 lb. defenceman was previously drafted in the seventh round in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft and is a product of the KC Pats U18 AAA program.
"We are happy to add a real solid defenceman and a high-quality character player to our team," Regina Pats GM and Head Coach John Paddock said.
