Gwinnett Stripers News Release

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - A seventh inning home run by Charlotte's Adam Haseley proved to be the decisive blow as the Gwinnett Stripers (38-42) fell 4-2 to the Knights (30-50) on a stormy Wednesday night at Coolray Field.

Decisive Plays: After the Knights snagged two runs in the top of the fourth, the Stripers retorted with two of their own, courtesy of doubles from Alex Dickerson and Ryan Casteel. Haseley put the Knights ahead for good in the top of the seventh with a two-out, two-run home run (9) off Stripers reliever Seth Elledge (L, 1-3).

Key Contributors: Dickerson had the Stripers' sole multi-hit performance, going 2-for-4 with a double, run, and RBI. Casteel finished the night 1-for-2 (2B, 2 BB, RBI). Hernan Perez went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Noteworthy: The game was delayed for 54 minutes in the top of the fifth due to lightning. With a double tonight, Braden Shewmake has now hit safely in 13 of his last 15 games, and is 18-for-59 (.305) over the stretch.
