CHARLESTON, S.C. - Whether he's dancing on the Riley Park field between innings or cavorting with fans in the stands during the game, Charlie T. RiverDog always finds a way to put a smile on the faces of adults and children alike.

On Thursday, July 21 at 1 p.m., the loveable mascot will take his act to the North Charleston Coliseum, the site of a regional tryout for the FOX television hit series, American Idol. Charlie plans to greet hopeful singers and the judges, and showoff a little of his own performing talents as well.

While the desire of those auditioning is to be a part of the program that has kept millions of fans glued to the television over the last decade, they also have a chance to impress Charlie himself. He may even spot some local ability that could "Be Your Own Fan" by belting out the national anthem at The Joe in the near future.

The RiverDogs continue a seven-game homestand on Budweiser Thirsty Thursday at 7:05 pm against the Lexington Legends. For more information or to order tickets to any RiverDogs game, please call the Riley Park Box Office at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or log on to www.riverdogs.com.
