
Asheville Bats Hot in 8-4 Win

Ashevillle pounded out 12 hits, including six doubles, in a 8-4 victory over Kannapolis on Thursday night at McCormick Field.
Nick Schnaitmann, who pitched with Asheville in 2010, was spectacular in his season debut with Tourists. Schnaitmann pitched six shutout innings, allowing just three hits while walking one and striking out two batters. Schnaitmann, who had gone 3-11 with a 10.16 ERA at Modesto, picked up the victory for his efforts.
The same two teams will meet again on Friday at 7:05 p.m. at McCormick Field in the series finale.
