WILMINGTON, DE - The Canton Charge (23-13) used a huge mid-game run to down the Delaware Blue Coats (19-16), 131-115, at the 76ers Fieldhouse on Friday night and complete a three-game season series sweep.
Trailing 56-55 and 3:44 left in the first half, Canton finished on a 12-2 run to surge ahead at the break 67-58. The run continued after the half with the Charge rolling out a 14-3 run to begin the third and take their largest lead of the game at 81-61, an advantage they would never relinquish as the hosts never again got within single digits. Dean Wade scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting in the third for the second-best scoring quarter for a Canton individual so far this season.
Wade led the Charge with 27 points on 11-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-7 from three with 16 rebounds in 36 minutes. Sir'Dominic Pointer scored a season-high 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting with five rebounds and four blocks 26 minutes. Sheldon Mac came off the bench to add 23 points on 9-of-9 from the foul line with five boards and four assists in 33 minutes. Malik Newman celebrated his 23rd birthday with an outing of 18 points, nine assists and six boards in 36 minutes. Matt Mooney also had 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes.
Seven Delaware players scored in double figures, led by Justin Robinson's 22 points in 32 minutes. Haywood Highsmith added 18 points and nine rebounds in 34 minutes.
