Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - After recording an eighth road win Saturday night in Chicago, CF Montréal (15-8-4) will host the New York Red Bulls (12-8-8) this Wednesday at 7:30pm at Stade Saputo (TVA Sports, TSN, BPM Sports, TSN 690).
A stiff test atop the East awaits the Montrealers as they take on the Red Bulls for the second time this season. In their first meeting, Montreal managed to take all three points in a 2-1 win at Red Bull Arena on April 9, 2022, thanks to goals from Rudy Camacho and Romell Quioto.
New York is fourth in the conference, just five points behind Montreal, with a 8-3-3 road record. The Red Bulls are the only side in the East with as many away wins as Montreal this season.
Undefeated in their last eight games, Wilfried Nancy's men continue to break records in the final stretch of this MLS campaign. With the playoffs just around the corner and seven regular season games remaining, Montreal equalled another record with the Club's 15th win of the year in Chicago.
The team now has 49 points after 27 games. This puts Montreal just two points shy of tying the Club record for most points in its MLS history, set in 2015.
Last Saturday, striker Romell Quioto scored his 15th goal of the season, tying the Honduran international for the fifth most goals in MLS. Quioto has found the back of the net in his last four games with six goals and one assist. The team has a 9-1-3 record this year when Quioto is on the score sheet.
New York also collected a win on Saturday, winning 3-1 at home against Miami. The New Yorkers boast the fourth-best defence in the East, having conceded only 34 goals in 28 games with a +10 goal difference.
