CF Montréal Continues Road Trip against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday
June 2, 2023 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
CHESTER, Pennsylvania - Following a come-from-behind 2-2 draw against D.C. United on Wednesday, CF Montréal will wrap up its two-game MLS road trip against the Philadelphia Union this Saturday at 7:30pm (Apple MLS Season Pass, BPM Sports, TSN 690).
During their previous meeting this season, in Montreal's home opener at Olympic Stadium last March, Hernán Losada's side managed a dramatic come-from-behind victory, striking twice in stoppage time through Chinonso Offor and Romell Quioto to seal the first win of 2023.
And despite a heavy calendar that has seen the team recently play nearly every three days, CF Montréal's record in the month of May has been 5-2-1 across all competitions with a goal differential of +4.
At Subaru Park, CF Montréal holds a 2-4-7 record while the lifetime stats against the Union are 10-8-9. The Union, meanwhile, is 5-1-2 at home this season, including a decisive 3-0 victory over the New England Revolution on May 20. For the Montrealers, their last triumph in Philadelphia dates back to September 15, 2018, in a 4-1 win. Since then, Montreal is 0-2-2 in Pennsylvania.
As for the opponent, the Union can now focus all its efforts on the MLS season following the team's elimination in the Concacaf Champions League semi-final against LAFC (1-4 on aggregate) coupled with a U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 loss in penalties to Minnesota United FC. The hosts were also in action mid-week, defeating Charlotte FC 1-0 at home.
