BRONX, N.Y. - The New England Revolution (7-3-5; 26 pts.) visit New York City FC (4-7-4; 15 pts.) on Saturday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Yankee Stadium. New England heads to the Bronx to play its second away match in four days, following a thrilling 3-3 draw with Atlanta United FC in a midweek battle on Wednesday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The result was the Revolution's second come-from-behind draw by the same scoreline. Revolution captain Carles Gil opened the scoring in the first minute and added the equalizing goal in second-half stoppage time. The Spaniard's second career MLS brace earned him MLS Player of the Matchday honors for Matchday 16.

Gil is now knotted with Wood for the team lead in goals scored with five tallies on the season. Against New York City FC, Gil has distributed five assists over six career appearances. Argentinian forward Gustavo Bou, who returned to New England's matchday roster on Wednesday following an injury absence, leads the Revolution with a team-high four goals scored in eight games against the Bronx Blues. New England leads the all-time series against New York City FC, 10-7-5, including a 2-1-1 record over the last four encounters with one of their premier Eastern Conference rivals.

The two sides battled to a 1-1 draw in the most recent meeting on April 1 at Gillette Stadium. Gil opened his 2023 account in the match, converting on Wood's first assist of the season. New York City FC's Talles Magno scored the equalizer in the 80th minute. Entering Matchday 17, Gabriel Pereira and Santiago Rodriguez lead the club's attack with four goals each. New York City FC is winless over its last seven matches, 0-6-1, including a 3-1 defeat to FC Cincinnati on Wednesday night.
