
Cedar Rapids mourns the passing of Nick Adenhart

The Cedar Rapids Kernels family extends heartfelt condolences to the family of Nick Adenhart, who was tragically killed in a car accident early Thursday morning in Fullerton, CA.
Adenhart, 22, was a 14th round draft pick of the Angels in 2004 and pitched for the Kernels in 2006, posting a 10-2 record with a 1.95 ERA in sixteen games. He was named to the 2006 MWL Western Division All-Star team and also the 2006 MWL post-season All-Star team.
He made his Major League debut on May 1, 2008 and made three starts, winning one of them.
Two others were killed and one seriously injured in the three-car accident.
The Kernels join the the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, MLB and all of baseball in mourning his passing.
