Causey's Double Seals Rockies Win

Nate Causey capped a three RBI day with a 2-run double in the eighth inning to break an 8-8 tie helping to lift the Grand Junction Rockies to an 11-9 win over the Great Falls Voyagers Sunday at Suplizio Field.
Causey scored later in the inning to stretch the Rockies lead to three runs, and in the ninth, Great Falls was able to get the trying run on base, but Alec Crawford struck out Hunter Jones to lock down the game, and his league best ninth save.
The Rockies were able to regain the lead on Causey's double in the bottom of the eighth after Ryan Jones tied the game in the top of the inning with his second homer.
Patrick Palmeiro put the Voyagers on top when he led off the second inning with his eighth home run of the season, but Causey started the bottom of the inning with a homer of his own, starting a five run inning.
After Great Falls scored a run in the third, both teams scored in the fourth to make it 6-3, but the Voyagers regained the lead with four runs in the fifth. Hunter Jones started the inning with a homer, and after they scored a run to cut the Rockies lead to 6-5, Palmeiro homered for the second time in the game to give Great Falls a 7-6 lead.
Grand Junction tied the game with a run in the bottom of the inning, and Hamlet Marte homered to start the sixth inning to give the Rockies the lead again.
Luis Castro had four hits and a walk in his first game since July 25. Wesley Jones added three hits, while Wes Rogers, Luis Jean, Causey, and Marte added a pair.
Yoely Bello struck out both batters he faced to finish the eighth inning, earning him his second win.
The win is Grand Junction's 36th of the year, eclipsing last season's total with 18 games to play.
