Carter Hart Ranked #1, Patrick Bajkov Listed by NHL Central Scouting Service

EVERETT, Wash. - Everett Silvertips goaltender Carter Hart has been listed as the top ranked North American goaltender, while Patrick Bajkov has been listed at #71 among North American skaters in Midterm Rankings of players eligible for the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft, released by NHL Central Scouting today.

A total of 51 players from Western Hockey League teams were included in the rankings for goaltenders and skaters eligible for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, scheduled for June 24-25 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y.

Hart, 17, is heading to the 2016 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, scheduled for Jan. 28 in Vancouver as the leader across the CHL in goals-against-average (1.92), additionally leading the WHL in wins (26), shutouts (6), and minutes played (2,370).

Last season, the 6-foot, 177-pound goaltender led the WHL in goals-against-average (2.29) in his first full season, helping guide Everett to their first U.S. Division title since 2006-07. He followed up the year as a gold medalist with Hockey Canada at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

In just 72 career regular season games, Hart has a 44-17-3-6 record, ten shutouts (tied for 3rd, Silvertips all-time list), a 2.11 goals-against-average and .921 save percentage. The Edmonton, Alberta native has been named CHL Goaltender of the Week twice in his career and his six shutouts this season are most by a Silvertips goaltender since 2004-05 (Michael Wall, 10).

Bajkov, 18, is fourth with 29 points (10g-19a) in 42 games for the first place Silvertips (U.S. Division), also ranking fourth on the club with a career-high +12 rating. Last season, he hit career-highs with 23 goals, 22 assists and 45 points, playing in all 72 games. The Nanaimo, British Columbia native was most recently ranked with a "C" listing for the CSS' "Players to Watch" list in November.

Among other notables listed among WHL players include Jake Bean (Calgary, AB / Calgary Hitmen), currently ranked 13th amongst North American skaters while Tyler Benson (#21 - Edmonton, AB / Vancouver Giants), Kale Clague (#22 - Lloydminster, AB / Brandon Wheat Kings), Simon Stransky (#25 - Ostrava, CZE / Prince Albert Raiders), Libor Hajek (#26 -Smrcek, CZE / Saskatoon Blades), Brett Howden (#27 - Oakbank, MB / Moose Jaw Warriors) and Sam Steel (#29 - Sherwood Park, AB / Regina Pats) were all ranked in the top 30.

Moose Jaw's Zachary Sawchenko (Calgary, AB / Moose Jaw Warriors) is ranked third among North American goalies. Last year, 35 WHL players were selected in the 2015 NHL Draft including five in the first round.

The Silvertips start a four-game road trip and visit the Kamloops Blazers for their next game, Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (1380 AM / WHL Live) in their second meeting of the season.
