Benson and Ronning Ranked by NHL Central Scouting

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Giants forwards Tyler Benson and Ty Ronning have been included in NHL Central Scouting's 2016 midterm rankings ahead of the NHL Draft this coming June. The rankings were released on Tuesday.

Benson, an Edmonton native, was ranked 21st amongst North American skaters. The Giants' captain is currently out of the lineup due to injury, but he has tallied 26 points in 28 WHL games this season. Benson is set to captain Team Cherry at the upcoming BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game at the Pacific Coliseum on January 28th.

Ronning was listed 82nd amongst North American skaters. The Burnaby native is tied for eighth in the WHL in goal scoring with 26 markers this season. The 18-year-old has also amassed 15 assists for 41 points in 45 games in a Vancouver uniform this year.

The Giants are in action tonight when they visit the Tri-City Americans. Puck drop is at 7:05pm.
