Burke and Babenko Crack Midseason List

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The National Hockey League's Central Scouting released their 2016 midterm rankings Tuesday morning and Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Brayden Burke and Egor Babenko both cracked the list. Burke, 19, was listed at number 68 among North American skaters. The Edmonton product is enjoying a breakout sophomore campaign as he currently leads the Hurricanes in scoring with 66 points (14g-52a) in 45 games this season.

Burke is tied for second in league scoring and leads the WHL in assists and power play assists. Babenko, 18, came in at 77 among North American skaters. The rookie from Tyumen, Russia, is having a tremendous rookie season for the Hurricanes having collected 54 points (23g-31a) in 45 games this season. The 5'9, 157-pound forward leads all WHL rookies in points, goals and assists and sits eighth in league scoring. Babenko is third in 'Canes scoring behind Burke and Sabre's draft pick Giorgio Estephan. Babenko was originally listed as a "C" Skater on the NHL Central Scouting's preliminary players to watch list in November.

Burke and Babenko are two of 42 WHL skaters to crack the North American list.
