Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Connor Dewar lifted the first place Everett Silvertips to their eighth win in the last ten games with his fourth game winner, 1:29 in for a 2-1 overtime victory over the Saskatoon Blades at XFINITY Arena on Monday afternoon.

The win boosted the Silvertips to a seven-point lead over Seattle for first place in the U.S. Division and 4-0-2 record in games this season against opponents from the East Division. Brandon Ralph earned his fourth goal of the season and Carter Hart earned his league-best 26th win of the season with 27 saves.

Mason McCarty capitalized on Silveritp misfortune, with an injured Mackenzie Dwyer left at the Blades net, and put the Blades up 1-0 with a minute left in the first period on his finish from a Nick Zajac centering pass.

Just 58 seconds into the second period, Brandon Ralph collected his fourth goal of the season on a tremendous set-up by linemates Matt Fonteyne and Patrick Bajkov for a 1-1 tie. Bajkov and Fonteyne entered the zone on a three-on-two situation, and their quick re-direction found the tape of Ralph, who buried a one-timer from the right circle.

Carter Hart and counterpart Brock Hamm kept the tie intact through two periods, with Hart stopping 18 saves through the first 40 minutes.

The Silvertips appeared to gain a 2-1 lead early in the third period on a Remi Laurencelle re-direction at the net, but the goal was negated on an offside call which restored the tie. Saskatoon outshot Everett, 8-7 in regulation to force overtime.

Bryton Sayers' chance at the net was turned away by Carter Hart just a minute into overtime, and the Silvertips cashed in on a subsequent two-on-one chance. Dawson Leedahl eyed a shot from the left circle but the shot bounced off the Saskatoon defense. The ricochet fell to the stick of Dewar, driving the net from the right wing. He uncorked a wrister that beat Brock Hamm past the glove, rushing the Silvertips off the bench to celebrate.

Hamm took the overtime loss with 28 saves.
