Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs announced today that goaltender Ken Carroll has been named starting goaltender for the CHL Northern Conference All-Star team. The game will be played January 17th, 2007 at CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana. This is the fifth time in his career that Carroll has been nominated for this honor. Carroll is unlikely to play due to recent injury.
"The timing is unfortunate that Kenny won't be able to play in the All-Star game but the nomination is still quite an honor," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Scott Muscutt. "Kenny has done so much for this franchise over the years and it's great to see him recognized by the entire league."
Carroll was selected following completion of balloting by CHL Head Coaches, Communications Departments and selected media in each market. His Goals Against Average of 1.82 still leads the league while his save percentage of .942 also tops the league list. An All-Star reserve will likely start in his place for the game on January 17th.
Joining Ken Carroll as Northern Conference starters are forwards Jeff Christian and Chris Richards (Youngstown), and Riley Nelson (Colorado). Defensemen Mike Burgoyne (Oklahoma City) and Derek Landmesser (Memphis) will start on the Northern Conference blueline. Southern Conference starters include forwards Brent Kelly (Arizona), Justin Quenneville (Corpus Christi) and Simon Watson (Lubbock). Adam Rivet (Laredo) and Scott Hillman (Odessa) will start at defense. Jeremy Symington (Rio Grande Valley) will start in goal for the Southern Conference All-Stars.
