Carrithers Promoted From Oneonta

The West Michigan Whitecaps, in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers, announced today that second baseman Alden Carrithers has been promoted from Short Season Oneonta.

Carrithers, a 15th round selection by the Tigers in the June 2008 draft, has appeared in five games for Oneonta this season. He is batting .182. Carrithers spent the 2008 season with the GCL Tigers, batting .316 with two home runs and 17 RBI in 39 games.

The Whitecaps' roster now stands at 25 active players.
