Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI -- Lorenzo Cain is the latest Milwaukee Brewers top prospect to don a Timber Rattlers uniform. Cain, rated as the #6 prospect in the Milwaukee organization by Baseball America, has just completed a rehab assignment with the Brewers Arizona League affiliate and been placed on the Wisconsin roster. He will be in uniform for the Rattlers game against the Clinton LumberKings tonight.

Cain began the 2009 season with the Huntsville Stars of the Southern League in late April, but was placed on the disabled list after playing four games in late April. He began his rehab stint with the Arizona League Brewers on June 29, played in three games, and hit .444 (4-for-9) with an RBI.

The 17th round pick in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft was the MVP of the Arizona League in 2005 after hitting .356 and leading the loop in doubles with 18. The outfielder has also been a South Atlantic League All-Star in 2006, and a Florida State League All-Star in 2007 in his climb up the ladder.

Earlier this season, the Brewers had Taylor Green and Alex Periard play with the Timber Rattlers to get back into the swing of things before those two highly rated prospects moved on to higher levels in the Milwaukee system.

Game time tonight is 7:05pm and there are a limited number of tickets available.
