JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Jared Carr had a home run and drove in three as the BlueClaws won their third straight game, blanking Brooklyn 6-0 on Sunday at ShoreTown Ballpark.

The BlueClaws pulled within three games of first place Brooklyn with the win, and in doing so threw their second straight shutout. It was the first time they've thrown back to back shutouts since August 13-14 last year at Greensboro.

The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning on a two-run home run from Jared Carr. It was his fourth of the season and brought in Rixon Wingrove, who had doubled to lead off the inning.

Jersey Shore added to their lead in the bottom of the fifth. Otto Kemp and Nick Ward had back to back RBI doubles to push the lead to 4-0. Carr added an RBI double in the sixth and Gabriel Rincones Jr. homered in the seventh. For Rincones, it was his seventh home run with the BlueClaws, and all seven have come at ShoreTown Ballpark.

BlueClaws starter Carlos Betancourt went the first three innings and did not allow a run while striking out three. Four relievers - Jack Dallas, Malik Binns, Cam Wynne, and Jason Ruffcorn, combined to throw six scoreless innings in relief. Dallas earned the win to improve to 3-1.

The BlueClaws are off Monday and head to Hudson Valley on Tuesday to start a six game series with the Renegades.
