Cardinals' Offense Stifled in Friday Night Loss to Wichita

WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wind Surge took game four of the series on Friday night by a 6-1 final. The Cardinals (72-51) held a 1-0 lead in the first three innings before surrendering six unanswered.

Decisions:

W: Marco Raya (2-4)

L: Wilfredo Pereira (5-2)

S: Christian MacLeod (1)

Notables:

Matt Lloyd drove in the game's first run with an RBI single in the first for his 66th RBI of the year.

In his third rehab game with Springfield, Michale Siani (oblique) went 0-1 with three walks and a run scored.

Wilfredo Pereira started in place of recently promoted Quinn Mathews on Friday. He went _ innings, his longest outing since June 13 (5.0 IP).

Wichita's offense plated six runs between the fourth and sixth innings. They plated three in the sixth all with two outs.

The Cardinals offense tallied just one hit after the first inning.

Springfield currently still has 37 road wins this season, which is tied for the most in franchise history (2008).

Had the Cardinals won, they would have been a season-high 22 games over .500.
