LAKEWOOD, NJ - Anthony Gose capped off a three-run ninth inning for the Lakewood BlueClaws with an RBI-single to right, scoring Travis Mattair in a 4-3 come-from-behind victory against the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Wednesday.

The single by Gose came after closer Marquis Felming lost the strike zone and allowed back-to-back walks, one of which tied the game to Troy Hanzawa. In the final inning, the BlueClaws (11-9) had four hits and the bases were loaded with two outs before the single by Gose.

The Hot Rods (12-7) got out to a 3-0 off of BlueClaws starter Trevor May and it could have been far worse than that as in the fifth, May left the game with the bases loaded and no out. At that time, Dusty Wathan called on Jordan Ellis from the pen and all Ellis allowed was a sacrifice fly and one of those runners to score. Ellis went on to pitch three perfect innings, striking out two. May went five and allowed three runs, two earned.

The BlueClaws trailed 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, they had just one hit as Harold Garcia stepped up to the plate. He added the second hit of the day, a solo home run to right and a 3-1 score on their second hit.

Off the BlueClaws bullpen, the Hot Rods could do nothing. BJ Rosenberg (7-2) came on in the ninth and threw another scoreless inning, earning his seventh win of the season, the second highest mark on the team.

Chris Andujar was called on to make a spot start and he filled in nicely, going five innings and not yielding a run. The late-game damage was done off the closer Fleming (1-4) who pitched 1.2 innings and allowed the final three runs of the game.

This was the seventh time this season the BlueClaws went on to win a game while trailing going into their last at-bat, by far the best mark in the league.

The BlueClaws and Hot Rods will finish up their four-game series on Thursday at 7:05. This will be the final game between these two teams in their respective histories as the Hot Rods will be moving to the Midwest League. The BlueClaws will look to Justin De Fratus (3-2) in his fourth start of the season and he will be opposed by Joseph Cruz (3-4).
