
Captains Show Lugnuts Who's Boss in 4-3 Win

(Eastlake, OH)- Torsten Boss blasted his fourth homer on the season and second in as many days, as the Captains beat Lansing 4-3 on Wednesday Afternoon. Boss' homer went off the batters eye in center field and was the deciding run in the game. With the win, the Captains snap a five game losing streak.
Nellie Rodriguez pounded his 14th home run of the season over into the bleachers in left field and the Captains took the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. In the third inning, Claudio Bautista hit his ninth homer of the season; a solo shot to left and the Captains led 3-0.
Lansing tied the game with a three run top of the seventh inning. David Harris led off with a single and moved to second when Chaz Frank was walked. Dickie Joe Thon doubled to left field and both runners scored. The score was 3-2. Thon moved to third on a grounder and scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Mitch Nay the score was evened at 3-3.
RHP Jordan Milbrath (2-9) started the game for the Captains and did not get a decision. Milbrath pitched six shutout innings and allowed nine hits, he walked one and fanned three. Anderson Polanco entered in the seventh inning and pitched to three batters and didn't retire anyone. He allowed three runs. Justin Brantley came in to relieve Polanco and retired the side in the seventh. In all, Brantley (2-0) got the win after pitching two innings and striking out three. Trevor Frank earned his seventh save on the season with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
RHP Jeremy Gabryszwski (6-3) started for Lansing and took the loss. Gabryszwski pitched seven innings and allowed six hits four earned runs and he struck out three. Gabryszwski allowed the three homers. Alonzo Gonzalez pitched one inning in relief and allowed one hit while fanning two.
The Captains will continue a seven game home stand on Thursday night. The Captains will send RHP Caleb Hamrick (2-4, 6.63) to the mound for the start. The Lugnuts will counter with LHP Shane Dawson (2-4, 3.15). First pitch is at 7:00 PM from Classic Park in Eastlake.
Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, presented by Labatt Blue and ESPN 850 WKNR and features a .25-cent Labatt Blue Happy Hour from 6 PM until game time at 7 PM, and half-price domestic draft beer and fountain soda specials until 9 PM.
As part of Thirsty Thursday, the Captains will also offer an all-you-can eat wing and pizza buffet outside the Corona Castaways Bar for only $13.
