LANSING, Mich. - The Lake County Captains (26-25, 62-57) completed a three-game sweep at Cooley Law School Stadium, scoring four runs in the tenth to defeat the Lansing Lugnuts (24-28, 66-56), 7-3, on Thursday night.

Right fielder Chris Carlson supplied a game-tying RBI double with two outs and two strikes in the eighth inning, but the Lugnuts could not avoid an eighth straight loss.

With two outs in the tenth inning, Grant Fink drew a walk from Lugs reliever Justin Shafer (Loss, 5-3). Yonathan Mendoza followed with a bloop single to left, moving Fink to second base. Carlos Ramirez entered from the bullpen, walking Yu-Cheng Chang to load the bases. Things worsened from there.

The Lugnuts disagreed with home plate umpire Zach Tieche's call of a 1-2 slider to Ordomar Valdez. A subsequent tie-breaking walk to Valdez drew the ire of Lugs manager Ken Huckaby, who was given the heave-ho for the fourth time in 2015.

Ramirez followed with back-to-back run-scoring wild pitches, increasing the Caps' lead to three runs, before Martin Cervenka delivered an RBI double to cap the rally.

Lake County reliever David Speer (Win, 5-5) allowed Carlson's RBI double, but pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the victory.

In a no-decision, Lansing starter Tom Robson turned in five innings with six hits, one run and six strikeouts.

The homestand rolls on as the Lansing Lugnuts welcome the Bowling Green Hot Rods in the first game of a three-game series on a Freebie Friday: Seniors Eat Free featuring postgame LAFCU Fireworks. Lansing right-hander Chase Mallard (5-5, 5.13) takes the mound at 7:05 p.m. against Hot Rods right-hander Chris Pike (9-6, 3.08).
