Capitols Select 10 in Phase I of 2021 USHL Draft

Middleton, WI - The Madison Capitols selected 10 new players as part Phase I of the 2021 USHL draft on Wednesday evening. The Phase I draft is a selection of 2005 birth years this season that are picked to help the future of the team. The collection of players included five forwards, four defensemen, and one goaltender.

"We are very excited about all 10 players we drafted in Phase I," said Head Coach & General Manager, Tom Upton. "They are all tremendous people with high character that are driven to play at the highest level. All 10 players fit our mold of having high hockey IQ, great skaters, high skill, and playmaking ability. We look forward to all of them putting on a Capitols jersey in the future."

The Capitols first pick was defenseman Nicholas Fascia out of Blackwood, New Jersey who played last season for the New Jersey Avalanche 16U.

Round 6, 89th Overall - Jacob Margarit | Defense | Chaska, MN | Academy of Holy Angels HS

Round 7, 104th Overall - Carter Wishart | Goaltender | Chaska, MN | Chaska High School Hawks

Round 8, 119th Overall - Bowen Burke | Defense | Paradise Valley, AZ | Shattuck St. Mary's 15's

Round 9, 134th Overall - Brendan Giles | Forward | Ridgefield, CT | Mid Fairfield Jr. Rangers 15's

Round 10, 149th Overall - Michael Bartkowski | Forward | Fort Mill, SC | Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 15's

Phase II of the USHL Draft will commence on Thursday afternoon beginning at 1pm CT.
