USHL Sioux City Musketeers

Musketeers Complete Draft Day Trade

May 27, 2021 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Sioux City Musketeers News Release

The Sioux City Musketeers have acquired forward Grant Slukynsky through a trade with the Fargo Force. Fargo will receive affiliate defenseman Mason Langenbrunner and a 2021 Phase II Fourth Round draft selection.

Slukynsky, a Northern Michigan University commit who turned 19 years old in March, played 55 games over parts of two seasons with Fargo. A three-year standout at Warroad High School in Minnesota, Slukynsky tallied 163 total points in 74 career prep games. During the 2019-20 season, Slukynsky led Warroad in goals, assists and total points (30-45-75) as the Warriors earned a sectional championship and a fourth place finish at the Minnesota state tournament.

"Grant is an all-situations center who plays both ends of the rink," Musketeers general manager Andy Johnson said, "We expect that he will be able to take key faceoffs and play major minutes right out of the gate. He is a smart player who has a good stick and can fill the net."
