
Canucks recall Auld; reassign Moss to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks announced that they have recalled goaltender Alex Auld from the Manitoba Moose and they have reassigned netminder Tyler Moss to the Manitoba Moose.
Auld, 22, has played in 36 games for Manitoba this season and registered a 15-18-3 record with a 2.60 Avg. (18th best in the AHL) and a Save Pct. of .909. The 6'4 netminder captured his 15th win of the season in a 4-2 victory over Saint John on Friday. In his two-year pro career, Auld has already made his mark in the Moose record book. He set a new franchise record for the longest scoreless streak at 158:28 (Dec. 21-Jan. 5). Auld has three shutouts this season and now shares the career shutout record held at four.
In his rookie season during the 2001-02 campaign, Auld made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks and earned his first-ever NHL victory in a 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars on Jan. 23/02. His NHL record is 1-0-0 with a 2.00 Avg. and .909 Save Pct. The Cold Lake, AB native played in 21 games with Manitoba last season and posted a record of 11-9-0 (one shutout) and a 3.53 Avg. with a Save Pct. of .881. He had also seen action in six games with Columbia Inferno of the ECHL and recorded a 3-1-2 mark with a 1.92 Avg. and Save Pct. of ..927.
Moss, 27, has played in 28 games for Manitoba this season and posted a 12-11-4 record with a 3.19 Avg. and a Save Pct. of .893. He started four consecutive games (Feb. 19-25) and he had seen action in seven of the last eight Moose matches prior to his recall to the Canucks on Feb. 26. The veteran netminder is undefeated in his last four games with Manitoba.
Moss was originally assigned to Manitoba at the start of the 2002-03 season on October 4/02 and then reassigned on December 27/02.
Vancouver acquired Auld in a trade with the Florida Panthers for a third round pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and a compensatory pick in 2001 on May 31, 1999. He was originally drafted by Florida with the Panthers' second choice, 40th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. This will be his first stint with Vancouver this season.
