
Canucks Reassign Four Players to Comets

Utica, NY - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Alexandre Grenier, Borna Rendulic, Joseph LaBate and defenseman Evan McEneny to the Utica Comets. The club has also reassigned and recalled forward Brendan Gaunce and goaltender Richard Bachman from Utica.
Grenier, 25, has appeared in two games with the Canucks and in 51 games with Utica this season where he currently leads the team in points (38) and assists (23) and ranks second in goals (15). A native of Laval, Quebec, Grenier was originally selected by Vancouver in the third round, 90th overall, at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Rendulic, 24, made his Canucks debut on February 28 versus Detroit and has appeared in 52 games with the Comets this season where he has recorded 14 points (9-5-14) and 20 penalty minutes. A native of Zagreb, Croatia, Rendulic was signed as a free agent by Vancouver on July 1, 2016.
LaBate, 23, made his NHL debut on November 23 at Arizona and has appeared in five games for the Canucks this season. The 6-5, 208-pound forward has also skated in 25 games for the Comets in 2016-17, registering nine points (2-7-9) and 55 penalty minutes. A native of Eagan, Minnesota, LaBate was selected by Vancouver in the fourth round, 101st overall, at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
McEneny, 22, made his NHL debut on February 25 versus San Jose totaling 15:08 TOI. He has appeared in 43 games with Utica this season where he currently ranks second among defensemen in goals (6) and third in both assists (11) and points (17). The 6-2, 223-pound native of Hamilton, Ontario, was signed as a free agent by Vancouver on September 13, 2012.
