
Ottawa Acquires Jokipakka, Draft Pick from Calgary for Lazar

BINGHAMTON, NYÂ - The Ottawa Senators announced that the club has acquired defenseman Jyrki Jokipakka and a second-round draft pick in 2017 from the Calgary Flames in exchange for forward Curtis Lazar and defenseman Michael Kostka.
Jokipakka, 25, has recorded 28 points (three goals, 25 assists) and 34 penalty minutes in 147 career National Hockey League games with Calgary and the Dallas Stars. Jokipakka was selected by the Stars in the seventh round (195th overall) at the 2011 NHL Draft. The native of Tampere, Finland has also recorded 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) and 36 penalty minutes in 87 games with the American Hockey League's Texas Stars. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defenseman won the Calder Cup Championship with Texas in 2013-14.
Kostka was in his second season with the B-Sens and scored six goals and 35 assists in 96 games. Lazar began the season in Binghamton where he recorded three goals and added an assist in 13 games.
The B-Sens have another three-in-three weekend as they hit the road Friday in Utica and Saturday in Syracuse. The Senators return home Sunday at 5:05 p.m. to face the Syracuse Crunch.
