Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - The Canaries return to Sioux Falls tomorrow, August 8, after a four-day road trip against the St. Joe Blacksnakes. The Canaries will host their I-29 rivals, the Sioux City Explorers, in a pair of games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Following the Sioux City series, the Birds will host the Fort Worth Cats in a three-game series, August 10-12.
Tuesday night, August 8, is Dukes of Hazzard Night out at the Birdcage. 1,000 lucky fans will get a Catherine Bach Bobblehead, courtesy of Lithia Dodge of Sioux Falls and Village Automotive. Former Dukes of Hazzard star, Catherine Bach was originally scheduled to make an appearance at the Birdcage in conjunction with her bobblehead giveaway. However, due to a scheduling conflict, Ms. Bach will now appear at the Birdcage on August 23. In an effort to accommodate our fans who bought tickets to see Catherine Bach tomorrow, the Canaries are offering free tickets to the August 23 game. Fans simply need to go to the Canaries box office with their Bach bobblehead in hand to receive their tickets.
KSFY will present the two-time World Series Champ and avid hunter Kent Hrbek on Wednesday night, August 9. Mr. Hrbek will be on hand at the Birdcage before the game to sign autographs and promote his television program Kent Hrbek Outdoors on KSFY.
The Canaries pay tribute to the Negro Leagues with throwback jerseys on Thursday night, August 10 at the Birdcage. The first 500 kids will receive a free t-shirt, courtesy of South Dakota Operation Lifesaver and the South Dakota Safety Council.
Bird Seeds: The only day game left on the home schedule is on Tuesday, August 15. First pitch is at 11:30am.
