
Canadiens Sign Dustin Tokarski to Two-Year Contract Extension

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have signed goaltender Dustin Tokarski to a two-year contract extension for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons.
In 234 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, Syracuse Crunch and Norfolk Admirals, Tokarski has a record of 124-87-14 with a 2.44 goals-against average, .912 save percentage and 18 shutouts. In 40 games with Hamilton this season, the Humboldt, Saskatchewan native has a record of 20-15-3 with a 2.36 goals-against average, .920 save percentage and one shutout. The 5'11", 198-pound goaltender is ninth in the AHL in goals-against average and tied for fifth in save percentage so far in 2013-2014.
In 10 career National Hockey League games with the Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning, Tokarski has a record of 3-3-1 with a 2.93 goals-against average, .902 save percentage and one shutout. In 10 games with Montreal this season, the 24-year-old has a record of 2-0-0 with a 1.84 goals-against average, .946 save percentage and one shutout.
Tokarski was originally selected by the Lightning in the fifth round (122nd overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Canadiens via trade with the Lightning in exchange for goaltender Cedrick Desjardins on February 14th, 2013.
Hamilton's next game is scheduled for tonight, Saturday, April 12th when the 'Dogs will host the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres) at FirstOntario Centre at 7:00 p.m.
