Canadiens Recall Andreas Engqvist from Bulldogs

MONTREAL (October 6, 2011) - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that forward Andreas Engqvist has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Engqvist, 23, played in 71 games with Hamilton last season earning 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists), 18 penalty minutes and a +8 rating. The native of Bromma, Sweden also skated in three games for the Canadiens in 2010-2011. The 6-foot-4, 197-pound centre played in six 2011 pre-season games with Montreal earning one assist. Engqvist was signed as a free agent by the Canadiens on July 13, 2009.

The 'Dogs will open their 2011-2012 season at home on Saturday, October 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum against the Rochester Americans. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs games can be heard live on AM 820 CHAM beginning with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
